Here is a 140 year old three bedroom one bath historic home in Chama, NM. Originally built in 1883 by brothers Juan & Manuel Martinez, this unique home has been modified and added on to over the years. This place is constructed of part adobe, vertically stacked cedar logs and horizontally stacked railroad ties. The floors in the home are reclaimed wood from decommissioned railroad box cars. The home has a newer (2015) propanel roof. In addition to modern kitchen fixtures, there is an antique (1915) wood cook stove that came to Chama from Wisconsin. The bath fixtures were added to the home in 1940 (tub, basin, & toilet). This place enjoys all city utilities. It would make a great vacation home or retirement project home. Located in the historic Village of Chama it is close to shopping and other services and it is within walking distance of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad.
