Description

PLEASE WATCH OUR VIRTUAL TOUR OF THIS PROPERTY

Rhenolds Close takes its name from the field the cottage was originally built on, Rhenolds Close Furlong. This spacious timber framed cottage offers an abundance of character throughout including exposed timbers and beams, some elm floorboards, plank doors and stairs, fireplaces, bread oven and leaded light windows.

Steeple Claydon has many amenities including shops, a pub, doctors and dentist surgery, church and primary school and is in an ideal location for those choosing to commute to the Capital with nearby rail links to London close by at Leighton Buzzard and Milton Keynes.

This Grade II Listed cottage started out as an Open Hall House dating to approximately 1431 and was subsequently partitioned in the C17, later extensions and alterations date to the C17, C18 and late C19/to early C20 as the property has evolved to meet its owner’s changing requirements. A property of historical importance, it has been featured in a book by Nat Alcock and Dan Miles.

Rethatched in 2001 with a maintenance check in 2011 involving patch repairs the property has been subject to maintenance works but will require rethatching in the short term. Replacement gas fired boiler in 2013 and a system flush and inhibitor were added in 2020. The electrics were checked and upgraded in 2019 (all dates approximate).
