Victorian properties still remain one of the most popular styles of homes, sought after by many different types of potential buyers because of their impressive ceiling heights, flexible space and of course just the way they look. This particular home was refurbished only a few years ago, with modern heating and wiring, updated bathroom and superb kitchen breakfast.
Set back form the road behind a low brick wall and wrought iron gate, a pathway gently rises to the original Entrance Door, but also along the side of the house through a secure gate to the rear garden. Stylish, yet simple ‘Shaker Style’ units with Butcher Block worksurfaces over, matching island that also double as a breakfast bar. Another bright room, as this wonderful space has both a window to rear overlooking the enclosed garden but also a gorgeous bay window seat to the side – perfect to sit and chat whilst preparing dinner.
On the first floor the modern decorative style continues and compliments perfectly the period staircase – did I mention it’s my favourite feature!
Another glorious Bay Window can be found in Bedroom one, again with fitted shutters and blinds, so no need for curtains and you can enjoy the full size of the window! Bedroom Two – another good-sized double, currently the ‘Pink Unicorn’ Room, with window to rear looking out to the rear garden. Bedroom Three at the rear of the house is yet another double bedroom, Bedroom Four at the front of the house would make an ideal home office – with so many of us now working from home, but will be just as useful as a child’s bedroom. The family bathroom is a modern suite with shaped shower bath complete with curved glass shower screen, pedestal wash hand basin and low-level W.C.
Now, in my opinion, the house is the perfect balance of period features and modern finishes and services – The Garden is just like an outside version of the house. Sure, it is a smallish space, but the owners have utilised the space to offer everything that a young family really needs – including a trampoline! The raised decked patio area enjoys sun for most of the day and is an ideal place to sit and relax, catch up with friends or entertain.
