Description

This is a large detached, and modern family home in an elevated village setting with far reaching views, 4 or 5 bedrooms with 2 en-suites, ample reception spaces, work from home options, great garden and there is even annexe potential if you don’t want the home gym!

Located at the end of a residential cul-de-sac in this lovely Mid Devon village with views of the village church and Dartmoor in the distance, this is a large family home that would suit a range of buyers. The house is in excellent order having been updated by the current owners and leaves little to do except move in. The house has double glazing, oil fired central heating and there is no onward chain.

The ground floor is large with the addition of a conservatory and a few years ago, the double garage was converted to create a flexible space which is currently used as a home gym and store room. The “store” has a kitchen set up and a separate entrance and could be used in conjunction with the gym to create an annexe if required. It could also be used as an additional bedroom or work from home space – there are plenty of options. The living room is large and enjoys the village views and is open to the dining room or snug and the conservatory. There is a well-appointed kitchen/dining room and utility room plus the essential downstairs WC. The décor is modern and light and gives a welcoming feel.

Upstairs are 4 double bedrooms with 2 en-suite shower rooms and a family bathroom. All of the bathrooms have been upgraded and are very well presented with white suites and modern tiling.

Outside is off-road parking on the drive and there is access to the side of the house. The garden is private and enjoys the wonderful views to Dartmoor with seating areas, useful utility areas for bins and recycling and plenty of lawn for those with children or pets! There is a timber shed for bikes and boards etc and plenty of space to create more storage, should this be required.

Please see the floorplan for room sizes.

DIRECTIONS : From Crediton, head on the A377 towards Copplestone and bear right after the traffic lights, following the A377 towards Lapford. After approx. 2 miles at Morchard Road, turn left (signed to Winkleigh) on the B3220 for approx. 1.5 miles and then turn left as signed to Zeal Monachorum. When you enter the village, Churchill Gardens will be found on the right with No.5 in the far corner.

Zeal Monachorum is situated 8 miles northwest of Crediton, hidden within vast and tumultuous farmlands. Its name is of Latin origin ‘Cella Monachorum’– meaning ‘Cell of the Monks’. Like many Devon villages Zeal is home to a number of period properties, and buildings that have a strict conservation status – preserving the traditional beauty expected from rural settlements. Its church is old (understatement) (1235, late Saxon) and in its yard is a yew tree rumoured to have experienced a 1000 birthdays or more (not that anyone celebrates). The village is also known for having the most family friendly inn around, ‘The Waie Inn’ – offering great food & drink, both outdoor and indoor children’s play areas, a heated swimming pool, skittle alley, large function rooms (for weddings, parties etc), an astro turf pitch, squash courts, fishing lake and B&B rooms
