Description

This house is a delightful residence set on three floors which has been beautifully upgraded in a warm, neutral palette. The house benefits from subtle recessed lighting and a contemporary heating system and stylish vertical radiators throughout with high-quality fixtures and fittings in the kitchen and bathrooms.

The kitchen cabinets are warm wood which contrasts beautifully with the polished black granite worktops and stainless steel double oven, perfect for the discerning cook. The rooms have been well arranged but are still versatile and could be alteration if required. The house is much enhanced by the sizeable garden with a pretty veranda standing over a stone patio, ideal for spending time outside in the approaching summer evenings.

But that‘s not all! For anyone wishing to work from home, the owner has built a huge office at the far end of the garden. He originally built it to house a full-length snooker table but it can be adapted for a number of different uses – gym, office, sauna - there is so much possibility here, the choice is yours!

Buckhurst Hill is a historic residential town which has a main high street containing a large Waitrose supermarket and a good selection of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.

It is also set near Epping Forest, with access to the M11 motorway and has an underground station to Epping or London. There are duck ponds at the top of the hill with many churches and varying religious denominations and is often featured in the media as a desirable place to live.

What the Owner says:

We‘ve lived in Buckhurst Hill for 13 years. The house needed a great amount of work to be done but there was potential to turn it into our dream home. When I bought it, I obtained planning permission to extend, and it took almost two years to build and update.

I loved it here so much, I bought another house in the immediate vicinity. The house is so versatile because each bedroom has an en-suite, it could either be a family home, rented out, or let as an HMO which would be an incredibly good investment opportunity. There is more scope in the loft to extend if you desire, although there is already a bedroom with en-suite there, but it is so large, you could extend further.

It has a side access to the garden, which means you don‘t have to walk through the house to reach it, which I‘ve found useful with the dog.

I don‘t really have a favourite room, but like all of them for different reasons. I‘ve spent a lot of thought on the house, I wanted to keep neutral colours for the bathrooms and invested heavily into making them just right. The family room is spacious with a bar area – it‘s a perfect house for entertaining. There is a partition in between the family room and the lounge, but you could take it out to have one large room. I also enjoy using the kitchen and dining area, there is room for eight people around the table and it is a comfortable room to gather in.
