Bridgerule is a small Devonshire village that rubs shoulders with Cornwall and offers the attractions of both counties. A few miles to the West Lies Bude and the rugged Cornish coast. Bridgerule itself has a long history, and in 1086 was recorded as Brige in the Domesday Book. Probably owing its full name to Ruald, a local landowner at the time, the village still features notable Norman architecture, including The Parish Church (St Bridget‘s), and Tackbear Farmhouse.

Bridgerule is divided by the River Tamar, which marked the border between Devon and Cornwall until 1844. On the Eastern side, you‘ll find the parish church, methodist chapel and primary school.
