Description

A charming two bedroom Victorian cottage located in a highly sought after cul-de-sac road in the heart of SW14. The property offers a wealth of charm and character with wood flooring, fireplace and sash windows. There is an extended kitchen, a lovely landscaped private garden and practical loft space. The living space comprises lounge with original wood flooring, reclaimed fireplace and storage, extended kitchen with skylights, integrated appliances, boiler cupboard and back door to the garden. Stairs lead to the first floor which provides landing with storage, double bedroom with fitted wardrobes, second bedroom/study and a classic style refitted bathroom. The loft area is accessed via a fold down ladder from the main bedroom, it is boarded with power and ‘velux‘ window, providing excellent storage. Externally there is a walled front garden with tiled path and a paved landscaped garden with a patio area for entertaining and flower borders.

The location

Worple Street is a pretty, quiet and sought after cul-de-sac road on the doorstep of the ‘outstanding‘ St Mary Magdalen‘s primary school and also near the 'outstanding' Thomson House Primary School. Local Shops, Mortlake Station, Palewell Common, Richmond Park, The River Thames, Barnes Village and White Hart Lane as well as several other outstanding schools are all nearby.

Owners‘ story

We found and did up this little Victorian cottage four years ago, taking it back to its authentic roots while updating all of its functions, and turning the garden into a cosy and romantic space to relax in. We love waking up to the view of green trees and the peace and quiet of being on a cul de sac between two churches (the bells make you feel like you could be deep in the countryside!). After moving in we acquired our dog and have made countless happy memories here. The location is unparalleled, with some of the best pubs in London and the river right on our doorstep. We have also loved taking our dog to Richmond Park every day. We‘ve been lucky to have the loveliest community of neighbours (and will miss the legendary seasonal Worple Street parties!) We‘ve cherished this house. It means a lot to us to pass it on to someone who will love it as much as we have.
