Description

DESCRIPTION

A delightful two bedroom property in an exclusive gated mews development situated in the heart of Old Amersham, in a tucked away location off the high street. This rarely available mews cottage is elegant and homely.

In the very hub of historic Old Amersham, its timeless appeal is in the location, setting and superb extended living space.

The south-east facing courtyard garden is delightfully secluded and a wonderful place to sit and unwind with a cool drink to hand. The town`s picture-postcard scenery will invite you to explore, and the awaiting Buckinghamshire countryside is right on your doorstep.

Two bedrooms, a contemporary fully fitted kitchen and bathroom and roomy living area in excess of 23 feet, give this stylish cottage an enviable profile.

Externally to the front of the property there is allocated parking space within a carport and a small garden to the front with shrubs and flowers. The gated mews is closed at night for extra security, access via fob.

In style and space, this versatile cottage can accommodate good-sized modern furnishings.

Accessed through a charming carriage arch, The Worthies is a Grade II listed Tudor building, altered in the 17th century. The building`s resilience and the affection for it which develops in its residents, means this home has an added historical dimension which is lacking in most other modern mews homes.

Age and charm; a chic location; the standing of a Grade II listed building; on all counts, this home has an attraction which is increasingly rare.

OLD AMERSHAM

There is a good reason why Old Amersham is such a desirable location – for couples, families, businesses, TV and film companies.

An ancient market town, it is one of the few to hold an annual Charter Fair (each September) instated in the 13th century; it is the location for scenes in Four Weddings and a Funeral, episodes of Midsomer and more recently Celebrity Masterchef; there are meeting and eating places to satisfy all tastes and educational facilities which are second to none in the country.

The location, which borders a rural landscape, also has a cosmopolitan feel that is enhanced by the boutique shops, independent retailers and coffee shops. A wider range of shopping and eating is in larger nearby towns such as Aylesbury, Watford and HighWycombe, all within a 35 minute drive from Old Amersham.

Essential links to London by road and rail are convenient and close by. Amersham Station is under a mile away and runs regular trains to London Marylebone on the Chiltern line or the Metropolitan line into Baker Street which takes just 35 minutes). The M40 and M25 are within ten minutes` drive from the property giving easy access to all other areas whether travelling in or further out.

Not to be underestimated are the delights of the local area. Open farms, museums, fetes, carnivals and farmers` markets make this thoroughly country but with a feel of being on the edge of the city.
