Location
Glastonbury is known to many for The Tor, the Abbey, its spiritual and religious history, the festival and its entirely quixotic, mystical and unique character.
One of the pleasures of the town and surrounds is its different meanings to so many. Glastonbury is considered by all to be a unique, individual small town of enormous character.
Wick Hollow is a quiet lane on the east side of the town and on the lower slopes which lead to the Tor. It’s just over a half mile pleasant walk on small lanes to the base of The Tor.
The property is approached with a right of way over the neighbouring drive. This leads to the private parking area (for 2 cars) of No. 6 and its Garage.

Description
Arthur Jackson Hepworth, commonly known, as Jack, was a renowned architect and artist, strongly influenced by the modern movement. He built several distinctive private houses which featured in The Architect Magazine, the Daily Mail Ideal Home Book of House Plans and mentioned in Pevsner.
This house showcases the style with simplicity, a flat roof, well-proportioned large rooms and many large, expansive windows which flood the house with sunshine.
The windows also provide full benefit of the house’s privacy and attractive surrounds. The views extend across gardens and the valley to the Tor beyond.

About the area
Glastonbury has been a religious centre throughout history and back into the times of legends. The Celtic monastery evolved into one of England's wealthiest and most influential abbeys and the town grew up alongside it. Today it’s a small but thriving town and a major tourist venue, welcoming thousands of visitors each year. Medieval Glastonbury - designated a conservation area - clusters around the evocative ruins of the Abbey.
Just 5 miles from Glastonbury is Wells which is the smallest city in England (population 10,000). Its centre is the marketplace (local markets twice a week) surrounded by many medieval buildings including the Cathedral and moated Bishops Palace.
Immediately to the south (2 miles) of Glastonbury is the more recent town of Street and these centres provide a huge range of facilities and amenities. There are excellent local schools and the private sector includes Millfield, Wells Cathedral School, Downside, All Hallows and the Bruton schools. About 12 miles southeast is Castle Cary station with a main rail line to London.
