Description

In our opinion this detached residence is set within a very desirable turning and offers tremendous scope to refurbish and enlarge the accommodation. Potential options that buyers can consider are, extending to the garage side of the property, extending to the rear of the home, incorporating a lower ground floor, the possibility of a loft conversion or even a front extension. Some buyers may even consider the option of replacing the existing property with a new build, all of which would be subject to obtaining the required approvals.

What we particularly like about the property is the rear garden, it provides a sense of privacy, being enclosed by mature shrubs and trees. A heated swimming pool is the answer to cooling off on a hot summer‘s day, it provides endless hours of entertainment for the children during the school summer holidays, whilst for adults there is a spacious raised balcony, the ideal spot to sit and relax with a glass of wine whilst keeping a watch over the children.

Internally the accommodation is well proportioned, there is a spacious entrance hall providing an impressive welcome to the home. The sitting room and kitchen/breakfast room are the key rooms to the ground floor, they are spacious enough for the family to get together for cooking, eating and relaxing, and both rooms have sliding patio doors opening onto the raised balcony.

Adjoining the kitchen is the utility room and a dining room, which again has a patio door opening onto the balcony. There is also a study/ television room, an ideal space for working from home, the children to do their studies or simply it is a space to escape to in order to watch that favourite television programme.

The owner tells us that when entertaining the house comes into its own as the three large patio doors allow guests to flow freely in and out onto the balcony.

What the Owner says:

With the children at school in Chigwell we moved here some 10 years ago. On occasions after dropping the children at school we drove around the area, we were always impressed by the atmosphere of Chigwell and in particular we liked Stradbroke Drive, so when this property came up for sale we had no hesitation in buying it.

The moment we stepped in to the property we were impressed by the spacious entrance hall, walking around the accommodation it appeared spacious and we could see it would suit our family needs. We then stepped out onto the terrace/balcony, that was the WOW factor for us, we could envisage relaxing and entertaining friends and family on the terrace, it has a great view of the garden, which is very private, and the swimming pool certainly impressed the children.

We have enjoyed many parties, barbecues and family functions over the years, it‘s definitely an area of the home that we have thoroughly enjoyed.

The location has been excellent, it‘s a peaceful area in which to live. Access to Central London is made easier with a choice of tube stations, Chigwell being 1.2 miles away and Woodford being 2.6 miles away. There are local shops at Brook Parade Chigwell and Woodford Bridge that cater for daily needs and the schools within the area enjoy a high reputation, which is an important factor for any family.
