Description

The open plan living room into the conservatory that leads to the garden is a particularly sociable space. -- Greg Wood, Director

#TheGardenOfEngland

An unassuming semi detached cottage presented for sale in excellent condition providing spacious accommodation, open plan living, vaulted ceilings and a private garden.

Positioned in a small village in the striking Romney Marsh landscape.

A semi detached former stable building converted many years ago for residential use. Stone walls, oak beams and log bunding stoves are all pleasing features that contribute to a robust sense of character and identity. The two most noteworthy features include the large sitting room with a vaulted ceiling that is open plan to the conservatory. This generous space leads onto the garden via bifold doors, where in the warmer months of the year the entertaining space is extended onto the patio. Furthermore, on the first floor there is a large bedroom spanning the length of the property and providing enough space for a bed and smaller lounge space.
Outside is a pretty and very private garden with raised flower beds, a lawn and garden shed. To the front, is parking provision for 2 cars.

Situation
The Romney Marsh is a low-lying area in Kent and East Susse known for its unique landscape and great natural beauty, historical interest and a rich wildlife habitat with a fascinating human history.
The marsh covers approximately 100 square miles, bounded by the English Channel, the town of Hythe, the Rother Levels, and the cliffs of Fairlight.
Romney Marsh is known for its diverse wildlife, including many rare and endangered species. It provides important habitats for birds, insects, and plant life. Consequently, parts of Romney Marsh are designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to their environmental significance.
In the 17th and 18th centuries, Romney Marsh was notorious for smuggling activities due to its remote location and challenging terrain. The area is home to several historic churches, many of which are medieval and reflect the area's long history. The marsh is also famous for its Romney sheep, a breed known for its hardiness and wool quality.
New Romney is one of the principal towns, it was historically a port before the coastline receded. The nearby town of Rye provides modern conveniences and a vibrant range of pubs and shops. An excellent range of schooling options in the state and private sector are available in the larger town of Ashford, along with High Speed rail services to London terminals in c37 minutes.
