Description

Steeped in history this charming Grade II Listed three storey terraced house is part of the historic Hill Hall, nestling in stunning parkland originally designed by Humphrey Repton, often regarded as the successor to Capability Brown. The exquisite Grade I Listed Elizabethan mansion was restored and sensitively converted in 2000, creating luxurious apartments and individual houses.

Entrance to the grounds is through a pair of impressive wrought iron gates that open onto a long straight drive through the park, bordered by an avenue of trees. It leads to Hill Hall and as well as to parking areas. Although the exterior with its leaded light windows and mellow brickwork are designs from a bygone era, as soon as you open the attractive period front door you become aware that internally it has been beautifully modernised to create everything needed for contemporary living.

The long corridor style hall has wood flooring, stairs to the first floor, a trendy downstairs cloakroom and access to the ground floor accommodation. This includes the light and bright lounge/diner that also has wood flooring and the contemporary kitchen/breakfast room with tiled flooring and a range of integrated appliances. The large lounge/diner has numerous windows and plenty of natural light shining through and provides space for a good sized table and chairs.

On the first floor there are two double bedrooms that each have superb views and en-suites, one with a stand-alone claw foot bath, modern separate shower and vanity basin and the other is a shower room. While on the second floor there is bedroom three, with a vaulted ceiling and storage facilities that could also make an excellent office for anyone working from home who wants to be able to concentrate without being disturbed by activities elsewhere in the main part of the house.

What the Owner says:

We have really enjoyed living here -a quiet oasis in the countryside with a great variety of wildlife roaming the grounds, yet we are just a few minutes from Epping and with access to the Central Line into London.

The location is magical with immediate access to the communal parkland that includes sweeping lawns, beautiful specimen trees, a Grecian inspired stone gazebo overlooking the lake, paved walkways and a pair of vast brick pillars that frame the formal garden area.

We will be sorry to move on, but it is time for someone else to enjoy all this house has to offer.
