Description

This substantial family property really does offer everything a family could desire, with plenty of reception spaces, ample bedrooms to match, and all neatly wrapped within approximately 1/2 of an acre of delightful, level gardens.

The house is brimming with character inside and out and is beautifully presented in smart, neutral tones. The house pleases on many levels, not least its layout, which is perfectly suited for the rigours of family life with excellent, bright, communal spaces but also plenty of scope for privacy courtesy of three separate, and large, reception areas. With four bedrooms and three bathrooms arranged on the first floor, there is ample space for the family to enjoy. All four bedrooms are doubles and the master is particularly impressive with a large dressing room and spacious en-suite shower room.

The extensive, private gardens are ideal for those who love to garden, or have children who will make full use of large, level areas of lawn.

When this beautiful family house was extended many years ago, it was clearly with a brief to create large, sociable areas, a feat that has been admirably achieved. The large windows and glazed external doors in the extended spaces have the dual effect of allowing the light to flood in, and creating a real connection between the accommodation and the garden. Amongst other additions and changes, the extension created a wonderfully welcoming drawing room with log-burning stove.

The ground floor flows well from the lovely central hall through to the garden at the back via the rear porch. To the right, is a cosy study, while beyond this is a well-appointed dining room with stripped wooden floors. Perfectly situated next to the dining room is a most impressive farmhouse style kitchen/breakfast room with doors to the driveway, and through to a useful utility area and WC at the other end. The smart kitchen has ample units topped by marble worksurfaces, built in appliances and a large, central island.

The upstairs accommodation is reached via a central landing. The master bedroom has a super, large dressing room with wardrobes leading off and this in turn leads to a very spacious shower room. The remaining three bedrooms are good sizes, and these share both a family bathroom with separate shower and another shower room.

Nicely set back from the road beyond mature shrubs and trees, the house creates a lovely first impression. There is ample parking on the driveway in front of the double garage, which can also be reached from inside the house.

The wonderful gardens extend to approximately 1/2 of an acre, with a large rear lawn beyond an extensive patio area to the rear of the house. Beautifully private, courtesy of mature hedgerow borders, and with vegetable patches, greenhouse, and fruit trees including apple, plum and cherry, there really is something for the whole family to enjoy. There is plenty of garden on each side of the house including a pleasant herb garden.
