Clacton-on-Sea – a mix of apartments, medium sized detached homes and retirement bungalows.
BACKGROUND
Clacton-on-Sea is the largest town in the Tendring peninsula and is situated in Essex, eastern England. It is a seaside resort that saw a peak of tourists between the 1950s and 1970s and the town's economy continues to rely significantly on entertainment and day-trip facilities.
The north-west part of the town has two business/industrial parks which provides many of the employment opportunities, as does the Port of Harwich.
Clacton has expanded substantially since the 1980s, with new housing estates on the rural margins of town, and some brownfield developments. Many residents commute to Colchester, Witham, Chelmsford or London and there is also a large retired population in Clacton-on-Sea.
TRANSPORT
Clacton-on-Sea is at the end of the A133 road which connects it with Colchester.
The town is served by Clacton-on-Sea railway station (90 minutes to London Liverpool Street station) and you can also easily reach London with National Express Coach services.
There is a good bus route network within Clacton, making Colchester, Manningtree, Harwich and Walton-on-the-Naze easily accessible.
It also has an airfield which has been active since its use by the RAF during the Second World War.
AMENITIES
Clacton has a pleasure pier, arcades, a golf course and caravan parks. The town and its beaches are still popular with tourists in summer and there is an annual carnival and Clacton Airshow in August.
Clacton has a shopping area with many of the usual national chains represented, and a Factory Shopping Village to the north of the town. There are also two theatres, the West Cliff and the Princes.
The town is served by three secondary schools, Clacton Coastal Academy, Clacton County High School and Tendring Enterprise Studio School. It has several junior schools.
When moving home it should be possible to find all the necessary support locally with several estate agents, solicitors and banks based on Station Road. Although it may be easier to find a surveyor on PropertyHeads or to use a regional company.
Jaywick Sands
Jaywick Sands lays just 2 miles to the west of Clacton-on-Sea. This is one of the older developments in the area, consisting mainly of holiday homes and there are plans for considerable redevelopment around the town. Jaywick’s main housing areas are divided into the Tudor Estate area, in the north, and Brooklands in the south west.
The average cost for a 4 bedroom detached property in Jaywick Sands is £250,000, whereas a 1 bedroom flat is available for £100,000.

Little Clacton

As referred to in our privacy policy, we use cookies and related technologies, such as beacons, pixels, tags and local storage, to provide you with the services accessible through our website and our apps (together, “PropertyHeads” or our “Services”). We use these technologies to provide, protect and improve PropertyHeads, as well as to understand and measure how you use and interact with it.

What Is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small file containing a unique identifier that is placed in the web browser of your computer or mobile device. Cookies and related technologies, such as tracking pixels, enable our systems to recognize your device and report information back to us. Such recognition helps the efficient operation of PropertyHeads, including our website and apps.
Does PropertyHeads Use Cookies?
Yes, like most websites and social networks, we use cookies in the course of providing you with our Services.
What Cookies Does PropertyHeads Use, and Why?
We use both session cookies and persistent cookies.
We use a session cookie to identify you during a particular visit to PropertyHeads. Session cookies expire after a short time, or when you close your web browser or app after using PropertyHeads.
We use a persistent cookie to identify you over a long period of time. (For example, if you asked us to keep you signed in, we would use a persistent cookie for that purpose.) Persistent cookies remain on your device for the set period of time specified in the cookie.
We use cookies to operate and improve PropertyHeads, specifically:

What Other Related Technologies Does PropertyHeads Use, and Why?
Tracking Pixels: Our advertising partners may use tracking pixels or similar technology to measure the success of the sponsored posts or other advertising products they use. A “tracking pixel” (also sometimes called web beacon, or clear GIF) is a tiny piece of code, invisible to the user, placed on a webpage or in an email and used in combination with a cookie, to link a given activity or impression back to the user; the advertiser includes it in its content so it can measure whether our members interact with that content (for example, by clicking to view an offer). We may set our own tracking pixel on an advertiser’s website so we can measure whether our members found the advertiser’s content effective or interesting, by tracking whether the sponsored post prompted members to take advantage of the advertised offer. This information helps us assess whether sponsored posts and other advertising offers are relevant and interesting to our members and successful for the advertiser.
